What is there to say about Boniface's childhood? In many ways, it was typical of a first born and heir to his father's title. He was a happy, out going child, if a bit inclined towards mischief, though his misdeeds were never born out malice, more out of a sense of adventure and recklessness. Try to hide the sweets in a spot too high for young Boniface to reach? You better believe he's going to stack furniture and climb, no matter how unstable his makeshift tower might be. While still a small child, his first sister was born, with a second following not too long after that. While both little girls drew off some of his parents attention, he didn't mind- less supervision meant more time to explore the family's estate and get into trouble.
As he grew older, Boniface found himself subjected to all the lessons in etiquette and politics, literature, etc etc, that one might expect a future viscomte to have.. and he found them all terribly boring. On the other hand, Boniface found an affinity for horseback riding, falling in love with the 'sport' as soon as he was old enough to sit atop a saddle. As he got better, he got more daring- racing his horse, jumping increasingly bigger streams. Pretty much, if one of his friends dared him to do something, he'd at least give it a shot! In fact, it was very easy to goad him to increasingly dangerous things. And he wasn't always successful- causing no end of scrapes, cuts, bruises, and the occasional broken bone. His injuries never kept him down for long- he learned to patch himself up- and while the healing arts never called to him, Eisheth's blood flows through his veins and he has a small talent for it. Eisheth's touch is also behind the only really 'quiet' thing he enjoyed- painting.
A boy grows into a young man- as he neared his 15th birthday, he started to accompany his father to Elua- to mingle with the other young nobles- and perhaps start the early stages of the courting game, not that anything stuck. And of course, on the occasion of his 16th birthday, his friends kidnapped him and took him to the Mont. Bryony House, which applied to his sense of bets and dares. And that's where he discovered his other great love- CARD GAMES (and to a lesser extent, dicing.) While he didn't have much money, Boniface certainly enjoyed playing when he could.
It was around this time that tragedy struck- his father passed on the True Terre d'Ange that Lies Beyond, though, if rumors are to believed- he likely died with a smile on his face. Since Boniface had not yet reached his majority, his mother assumed the Viscomte as his regent- and the young man was mooooore than happy to let her have the responsibility! Two more years of being frivolous and reckless!
All good things must come to and end though, and with his recent birthday, the young viscomte finds himself summoned to Marsilikos to assume his responsibilities. Still, there are worse places to be!
