Background

Perhaps he was blessed to be born as he was, While others might view it as a curse. Egil was born to Jarl Aksel Eklund and his wife Ingvild. The youth raised in a culture where strength was prized and where bloodshed was not so uncommon.

From a young age he was trained in martial skills, From basic unarmed fighting to how to handle an axe and sword and with shield. While some might think it madness for Egil it seemed natural to favor an axe with one hand and sword with the other, favoring the pairing for its ability to get past shielded opponents despite leaving him exposed further than most would like.

As a young teen he was already assisting with patrols and raiding parties, The young Egil focusing more on the matters of war and combat than politics. Making a name for himself with his fervor on the field.

Now well into his twenties and with his father growing older it has come to pass that he was sent to learn of politics and other cultures. Sent out with a member of his fathers court to act as an Emissary. A learning experience before him with a rather sharp curve meant to ready himself to take the reins of his home when the time comes.

Description

It is hard to mistake the man before you as anything but a foreigner, And from the looks of him one who calls Gotland home. His auburn hair holding little streaks of lighter hair worn long and braided. The braid hanging down to mid back showing those years of growth. The sides of his head shaved down to the skin revealing intricate tattoo work along the scalp, a mixture of gotland tribal work and runic symbols. His facial features may very well be handsome but in a rugged sort of way. A scar visible across one brow and along his cheek crossing over his face. His eyes of bluish grey looking upon the world with a near predatory gleam, the look of a man always looking for the night battle to be waged or fight to be won. Further putting him apart from locals is that existance and presence of facial hair, the man's jawline veiled by a thicker beard that frames his full lips.

The 6'3" tall man weighing in at over 240 pounds leading to a more muscular physique. A body earned through years of hard work and countless battles. A strong neck leading down to his broad shoulders. The man wearing for the moment a cloak of wolf fur over a leather doublet. Around his waist a thick leather belt is worn holding a few pouches and his drinking horn. An axe tucked into the back of the belt out of sight while his left hip holds hanging from a scabbard a sword holding small runic symbols etched into its hilt.

Personality

Quirks:

• Bloody Reputation: Beyond known to be the son of the Jarl Aksel Eklund this man has a reputation as a skilled fighter and one who seems to savor the fight or battle. Enjoying it immensely and it shows, Rumor even has it that the one time he took part in a tournament he got lost in the fighting and had to be dragged away.
• Heir Apparent: As the eldest son of the Jarl he is the Heir Apparent to the throne back in his homelands. Having been sent here to ready himself for the other matters of ruling beyond warfare.
• Storms Glory: With his shamanistic roots the man worships in the storm, finding each one an excuse to offer up his prayers. Something about them seeming to draw in the man.
• Risk Taker: Risk be damned, Someone has got to do it.
