Known Information
A young man recently arrived from the country with a knack for the blade and absolutely no idea what he is doing.
One of the younger of Duc de Valliers' children, Yves like many of the children in the family was handed a sword as soon as he could walk and taught in all manner of warfare against the Skaldic menace. In all things martial, he excelled, and continues to exceed expectations showing the strength of his lineage as a scion of Camael. But blood would only do so much, and what he lacked in natural aptitude the youth more than made up for with obsession and drive. Never wanting to be left behind by older siblings for any reason.
Such was his recognized talent that he was quick to find himself in defense of the land, and swinging his sword without mercy, perhaps several years earlier than might have been expected, even of a son of a Valliers. That said, the young man aspires to become a proper warrior for the realm, and not just another nobleman living on the good graces of his forebears.
A true aspirant of the Camaeline virtues.
Aside from his warrior aspirations and thirst for knowledge of the blade, what then can be said of the young Yves Nicodeme Valliers? Among the children in Nancy, he was quick to make friends, but always hyper, always moving, always constantly looking for something to swipe at with a stick or a new friend. He enjoyed the company of girls a bit earlier than most, perhaps because of how quickly he'd grown into his frame, or perhaps just because it was his particular nature.
His studies as a young nobleman were a bit stunted at times, as none consider him likely to ever be heir, so he was mostly left to his own devices. Learning to dance, speak clearly and play a skilled game of chess so as to pass the time when he isn't training for battle with Skaldia.
Due to recent pressures from the family and recent developments along the border, the Duc has recently made the decision to send his son to the Ducal palace in Eisande where he hopes some exposure might help him broaden his horizons and perhaps secure a wife.
Inspiration
A fair skinned young man, Yves has a symmetrical look and a well conditioned physique despite the youth of his Camael blessed features. He has been increasingly partaking of Marsilikos' fashion, allowing his hair to grow out even if he has little ornamentation. Of his look itself, the youth might be considered handsome but a touch boyish still. Beneath his garments he has the hardened musculature of a skilled swordsman without unnecessary weight to slow him down, and the oft-calloused hands of a young man accustomed to long hours of swordplay.
He tends to wears garbs befitting a Lord, with a dominance of white, red and a woolen textile being the usual garbs. A waist or knee length jacket often with silver or golden buttons. Calf length dark brown leather boots and a matching belt are often worn. At his waist he carries appropriate weaponry, a sword if at all possible, and if not, then at least a knife of some sort.
- Lady Esmerelda: Given as reward for winning the Spring Tournament of 1312: a fine blade, forged from Aragonian steel, and the hilt is the work of a gifted Eisandine artisan. As the sword in its sheath is unwrapped, there is an instant red sparkle, where rubies are catching the light of oil lamps and candles, a glitter of gold that has been used on the gilded handle, and the dark red dye of the leather strap that has been wrapped about it to provide a safe grip.
- The Fine Cuttlery: Given by his father on his departure for Eisande, it is fine Camlach steel with a black scabbard and a well refined edge. (Picture found in pictures.)
A friendly boy. Work in progress.
Quirks:
- Hyper: Always moving, always doing something. It makes him excitable, active and has helped him reach his limits in certain ways, but it also might make him a bit challenging to be around for those who are less than entirely patient.
- Naive: Fresh from Camlach, Yves tends to take people and their word at face value. He doesn't assume anything, but it also makes him slightly endearing and sort of makes up for the fact that he's hyper.
- Obsessed with Swords: Apparently a part of his upbringing, Yves was raised with a sword in hand and generally tends to constantly be thinking about swordplay. Watching him from afar one might watch as he moves his feet through the motions of various footwork.
- Scion: Camael: In whatever way it plays out, he is a genuine scion of Camael and it shows not just in his looks but his natural aptitude for warfare.
- Youngest Son of a Duc: Yves is the youngest son of the Duc Valliers, and some people might see him as a great target or a great friend.
- Boisterous: Yves is outgoing, he'll talk to anyone.
- Dueling Champion: Only a few tournaments so far, but it's something.
